A butterfly card using the X cut die set and a embossing folder

Monday, 29 July 2013

Having a play with one of the new sizzix dies,I did find it quite difficult to get it to cut, in the end I used a piece of funky foam underneath the cutting plates and rotated the plates and kept putting them back through the big shot machine around 8 times in all . The cat is one of my friend Caroline's stamps, the background paper is from my stash.
Rose and butterflies are die cuts.

Up-cycled set of draws .

I rescued this set of draw  a couple of weeks ago,
we was fetching our son home from uni for the summer break,
after clearing his room out we took the rubbish to the bins and this set of draws was thrown on the top of one of the skips ,
so much to my son's embarrassment i rescued them.
They was just bear wood so I gave them a lick of paint and then choose some kay & co paper from my stash and glued this on having first inked around the edges ,
and this is the finished item think they will look nice in my craft room  sure i could find plenty of stash to fill the little draws.

Something a little different today
This watering can is well over 60 years old, it belonged to my grand father then my Dad and was always used for the purpose it was made ( watering plants) then about 20 years ago came to live with me as a decorative item, mainly because it's really heavy when filled with water. Over the years it's  been painted many colours but this year I thought I would deco patch it  and i am really pleased with the effect I gave it 2 coats of gloss varnish on top of the deco patch paper and so far it as stood up to all the rain we have had.
